About Me

My name is Terry A. Staley. I was born in northern Indiana and have resided in this area all my life. I received my high school diploma in 1961. In 1964 I married my lovely high school sweetheart, Diana. We were blessed with two wonderful children, and two grandchildren. Along the way we met Jesus and our life has been awesome ever since. I presently serve as Assistant Pastor and Minister of Music at New Testament Bible Church, where I also play organ and keyboards. I am also a music writer and arranger.

The music part of my life began when I was six years old. I started studying music theory and playing the piano. At some point I heard someone playing a Pipe Organ and I said "That's the instrument for me". I had never heard anything that beautiful in my whole life! My dad saw the passion I had for the organ and bought a Lowry Spinet model for me. I then started taking lessons from one of the prominent organ teachers in the area. I loved it and I practiced hour after hour, many times I didn't want to take time to eat. For more than fifty years I have played in churches, concerts, tent meetings, street meetings and park meetings. I have played piano and organ for soloists, choirs and worship services.

Several years ago our home was destroyed by fire, and along with everything else, my fully restored 3-manual Conn Electronic Pipe Organ (circa 1960 World's Fair prototype). As I was not prepared to enter into the great expense and years of restoration time on another pipe organ, I took a serious look at keyboard synthesizers and ended up buying an Ensoniq TS-10. This started a love affair with the digital music realm that has progressed to the virtual instruments of today. I have built a 3-manual full-console MIDI work station and mostly play virtual software such as Miditzer (virtual Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organs, Hauptwerk (virtual Pipe Organs) and B4 (virtual Hammond Organ).
